Purple Riot was originally tasked with launching the mammoth Withy Grove site in October 2020, but due to Covid restrictions, we couldn’t deliver our usual style of launch event. Instead, we created a press and influencer outreach strategy inviting top-tier Manchester press, influencers, and VIPs for seated reviews over a month-long period.
Following a highly successful soft launch (but still faced with Covid restrictions), we implemented the same outreach strategy in March 2021, introducing the venue’s new outside seating area ahead of the venue fully reopening in May 2021.
We invited a host of high-profile regional influencers to come and check out the venue, indulge in American-inspired food and drinks, try out the bowling and gaming (socially distanced, of course!), and share their fun night with followers. Guests included influencers Jordan Adefay, Rachel Leary, and Tilly Davies.
Despite complex restrictions, we secured press coverage in our regional target press, including the MEN, Manchester’s Finest, and I Love Manchester.
Purple Riot reacted nimbly to changing Covid circumstances, securing comment in the MEN for Roxy Ball Room’s Brand Development Manager regarding reopening post-Covid. This article alone gained over 700,000 views.
